While speaking to Happy FM on Monday morning, he said, “I would love to coach Ghana. Having the opportunity will be great. I have not spoken officially to anyone but I will love to lead this team,” Keshi said, adding that his antecedents spoke for itself.

Meanwhile the Ghanaian Football Association, has swiftly moved to kill Keshi’s yearnings, saying the application window for the job is shut.

Fred Crenstil of the GFA spoke to Supersport.com, “Unfortunately, we are not considering any other names and so Stephen Keshi – who we respect a lot – will not be able to make it,”

The Ghana FA are in the concluding stages of assessing three short-listed Europeans which include Swiss coach, Michel Pont, Spanish coach, Juan Ignacio Martinez and former Chelsea gaffer, Avram Grant, who were vetted a fortnight ago, with a final decision to be arrived at in the coming week.

It would be recalled that the current vacancy in the Black stars was created by the September exit of Kwensi Appiah, who took charge of the team in the 2014 world cup, in Brazil.
