Deadly Suicide Bombing Hits Maiduguri
Category: Boko Haram News
A suicide bomb attack in the northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri has killed at least six people, police in Borno state said.
The blast happened at about 12:40pm on Saturday near the live chicken section of the city's Monday Market, AFP news agency said.
The bomb blast was believed to be carried out by two female suicide bombers, one of them is said to be 10 years old.
At least six people died in the blast while another 20 people were injured, a police source said.
The bombing occurred a day after violence in Baga, another town in Borno on the border with Chad, which left about 2000 people, mostly children and women dead, according to Amnesty International, the UK-based human-rights organization.
Maiduguri's Monday Market was targeted twice in a week by female bombers late last year.
There are conflicting reports of casualties but death toll expected to rise.
