Shagari Not Dead

In earlier reports today, spreading across the internet,  Alhaji Shehu Shagari was reported dead. Earlier in the week, it was reported that the former president had health problems that warranted medical attention.


Amid the speculation and rumors, Tribune has released an authoritative report to allay worries: Shehu Shagari is not dead.

Nuhu Koko, personal assistant to Shagari and head of the Shehu Shagari Foundation said, quite simply: "Shagari is alive."

Alhaji Shehu Shagari, is a Second Republic president of Nigeria. He celebrated his 90th birthday on February 25, with all the former heads of states in Sokoto.
