Accident On 3rd Mainland As Truck Falls Off Bridge
A Lagos State Government task force truck reportedly fell off the tip of the
third mainland bridge unto another government Hilux pickup van earlier
today.
The spate of accidents on Nigerian roads over the past few weeks has become a major of concern. A week ago, an accident along the Lekki-Epe expressway in Lagos claimed the lives of three people and left eight in critical condition.
According to reports on the accident on Naiaraland, there was no report of any
death but the driver of the truck sustained some injuries.
It was also gathered that some other private vehicles were also affected.

On Wednesday, September 2, a heavy duty container skidded off the
Ojuelegba bridge in Lagos and landed on two private cars, crushing the
occupants of the vehicles.
On the same day, fourteen people died and many others were injured
at Ogunmakin on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in two crashes.
A recent report by relevant authorities has revealed that more than 120
Nigerians have died from accidents involving fuel tankers and articulated
vehicles in the last five months.
Lagos state has been trying to combat accidents especially those caused
by heavy duty vehicles. The state government has bared heavy duty
vehicles from plying the roads during the day.
