Wife of Sun Newspaper DMD Kidnapped, N100 million Ransom Demanded

Mrs. Toyin, wife of the Deputy Managing Director of The Sun Publishing Limited, Mr. Steve Nwosu, has been kidnapped.

Nwosu was abducted right in the presence of her family, from their Lagos residence in Amuwo-Odofin, Festac town, Lagos, at about 2:30am on Monday, September 14, 2015.

Toyin is 40 and a mother of 4.




The kidnappers was alleged to have escaped through the canal at Amuwo area.

Hours after kidnappers abducted Mrs. from her residence in Lagos, the kidnappers have contacted the family, demanding a ransom of N100 million in the first call they made.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni has described the attack as an ‘armed robbery operation.

Owoseni who spoke to newsmen at his office in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, today said the home of the senior journalist remains an active crime scene since his wife was held hostage.

He said, “Steve Nwosu was a victim of armed robbery attack. The place is still an active crime scene, so we are careful in order not to jeopardize investigation."

Steve Nwosu is an executive director with the Sun Newspapers and holds the title of the Deputy Managing Director/Deputy Editor-in-Chief.

He also runs a column in the papers. He was previously daily editor at The Sun.
