Yesterday, November 30, supporters of the James Faleke and Yahaya Bello clashed openly at the APC national secretariat in Abuja over Kogi State APC governorship ticket.
According to eye-witness reports, the party’s National Working Committee members, reporters and visitors at the APC national secretariat in Abuja were held hostage for hours by feuding youths.
Faleke was the running mate to late Prince Abubakar Audu, who passed on after the electoral umpire, INEC, declared the election inclusive, Faleke is demanding that INEC declare him winner of the governorship election.
The INEC had declared the November 21 election inconclusive, saying that the margin in the number of votes garnered by the APC’s candidate, late Abubakar Audu and the runner-up, the candidate of the PDP and the incumbent Governor, Captain Idris Wada, was less than the number of votes cancelled.
Bello is being pushed by some leaders of the party to take the governorship ticket, having taken part in all processes during the primaries of the party.
