Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Rickey Tarfa Sues MTN, EFCC, Others For N5bn
Category: Nigeria National News
Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Rickey Tarfa, has
filed a lawsuit against telecommunications
company, MTN Nigeria, and EFCC for the alleged violation
of his right to privacy. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions, EFCC on February 5 arrested Rickey Tarfa and
confiscated his mobile phones and Mercedez Benz SUV car for allegedly hiding two suspects being investigated by the commission in his car to prevent their arrest.
Rickey Tarfa has approached a magistrate court seeking the court to declare violation of his right to
privacy by the EFCC and MTN.
MTN had earlier provided the commission with his phone call records/log. According to Mr. Tarfa, the access to his call logs was without his authority and made available to Sahara Reporters
and other online news media without a lawful court order.
He is requesting the court to order MTN and EFCC to pay him N5billion for the violation of
his rights.
