Governor Ganduje Changing the Face of Kano

Kano state government’s determination to provide new public infrastructure and upgrade existing ones is not only aimed at improving the welfare of the citizenry but also to attract direct foreign investment.
The state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje stated this while inspecting construction of Gidan Boss road, Sharada/Mabobi underpass, Ultra Modern Skills Acquisition Center and the first phase of 2,000 housing units at Amana City respectively on Thursday, assuring that the projects would change the face of Kano.

He assured that all the ongoing projects would be executed according specification and would go a long way in easing transportation and economic activities in Kano city, which is fast becoming a mega city.
"Business activities in Kano state are no longer for the inhabitants alone, people within and outside the country especially from west and Central African do business in the state. Now, we want to attract more people from other parts of the world to come and enjoy the lucrative business environment in the state," Ganduje reaffirmed.
The governor maintained that his administration intends to transform the state to a true mega city by providing modern infrastructure similar to other developing nations, pointing out that for instance, the Sharada/Madobi underpass is one of the structures found in cities like Dubai.
He said when completed, apart from beautifying the state, the underpass would facilitate unhindered transportation, promising that Panshekara road, which is linked to the bridge would also be dualized.
Governor Ganduje revealed that Gidan Boss road which links Katsina road and Kofar Mazugal would provide a short cut for motorists, pointing out that automobile and mechanical businesses being conducted in the area would equally be enhanced.
At the Skills acquisition center near Amana City, he said that about 20 different vocational endeavors would be thought to prospective beneficiaries with formal and informal talents.
On the 2,000 housing units, Governor Ganduje said that his administration designed the houses purposely of low income earners at the cost, explaining that interested buyers have a chance to pay in installments.
In his remarks, the state Commissioner of Works, Housing and Transport, Alhaji Shehu Haruna Lambu who conducted the governor round the project sites explained that Gidan Boss road and the Madobi underpass are progressing smoothly.Ameen K. Yassar,
