Oba Dr. Michael Folorunsho Olobayo (JP)
A foremost traditional ruler in Kogi State. Chairman Okun Area Traditional Council, Obaro of Kabba, Oba Michael Folorunsho Olobayo, the Obaro Ero II.
HRM Oba Dr. Michael Folorunsho Olobayo, is a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
He was an accomplished administrator who rose through the rungs and became a Permanent Secretary in the Civil Service of the old Kwara State, before assuming the throne as Obaro of Kabba on 17th October, 1985.
During his over 30 years reign as the Paramount Ruler of Kabba, the ancient city witnessed physical, aesthetic, infrastructural, educational and economic development. As a profoundly charismatic Monarch, HRM Oba Dr. Michael Folorunsho Olobayo was a natural bridge-builder of hope, unity and a lover of his people.
As the Chairman, Okun Traditional Council, Oba Michael Folorunsho Olobayo displayed uncommon passion, unalloyed commitment and unusual verve towards deepening peace, love and unity amongst towns, communities, villages and people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency and Yagba East/West/Mopa-Muro Federal Constituency.
He died in May 2016 at the age of 71.
