Category: Nigerian National News
Beggars comprising of deaf and dumb, the blind, crippled, aged persons yesterday staged a protest to the Kaduna state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists where they expressed their displeasure over the anti-begging bill that was signed into law by the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, last week.
Speaking to journalists at the NUJ secretariat, the beggars said the governor must reverse the law within 7 days or they will be forced to take over the government house. The group described the new law as insensitive to their plight.
