Brake Fails as Jeep Reverses, Damage Electric Pole, That saved it from Falling into a Ditch at Oke-Oke-Ira in Lagos (Pictures)

A Jeep almost fell into a ditch while trying to reverse along a slope leading to a popular church that has thousands of congregations every Sunday at Oke-Ira in Lagos.

The accident occurred when a driver which was assumed drunk or “learning” according to eye-witness, suddenly plunged into an electric pole supplying light to some houses along Olatunde Close in Oke-Ira.

The street is a slope that leads to a popular church, Babaolomi Now Now, presided over by Prophet Felix Oluyemi, popularly known as Babaolomi

There have been no officials of the Electric Company at the scene of accident since the accident happened, and the damaged car is still at the scene of accident as at the time of this report.

Being a Sunday morning, we were unable to talk to some residents of the area to get their opinion about the accident, as most of them were rushing for Sunday services.

Drivers are always advised to be careful while driving along slopes; cars can easily swerve into ditches or loss brake. Drivers should also avoid over speeding on roads that are sloppy.

Lives and properties could be damaged when this kind of accidents occur. Drivers are therefore cautioned to avoid over speeding when on slopes like this.
