Ganduje and Minister of State For Agriculture Flags off 2016/2017 Dry Season Growth Enhancement Scheme in Kano

and the Minister of State for Agriculture, Mr Heineken Lokpobiri flagged off
the 2016/2017 dry season Growth Enhancement Scheme in Chiromawa Redemption
Centre, Garun Malam Local government area in the the outskirts of Kano
state.
In his speech, Governor Ganduje welcomed the minister and his entourage to Kano state, and thanked them for selecting the state to be the location for the flag off of Dry Season Growth enhancement scheme. The governor told his audience that his administration had invested a lot in agriculture but mostly with the input of the farmers in the state, he reiterated that the state doesn't deal with middlemen but directly with farmers which he said has yielded some positive development.

The Minister of State for Agriculture, Mr Heineken Lokpobiri thanked the governor for agreeing to host the programme in Kano despite the short notice, and went on to commend Ganduje for the successes recorded under his leadership in the sector in the State.
He also said that the federal government is committed to continuing the GES programme despite the challenges being faced. He added that similar schemes that will expand the sector will be introduced by the ministry.
In their goodwill messages, the Chairman of Senate Committee on Agriculture, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and his counterpart in the green chamber House Committee on Agriculture represented by Hon Manniru Babba Danagundi both emphasized Federal government's dedication to the advancement of Agriculture in the country, adding that Kano State has a significant role to play. They thanked Governor Ganduje for his immense contribution to agriculture and for hosting the flagging off of the programme.
The event was well attended by several stakeholders from the agriculture sector both from the federal and state levels as well as ordinary farmers who have benefited from the GES scheme.
