Gov Ganduje Gives Scholarship to 100 Kano Youths to Develop Their ICT Skills
Kano State government in it's efforts to bridge the gap in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the state has offered 100 Kano youths scholarship to undergo a 2-year National Innovation Diploma at the Digital Institute (DBI).
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA), to the governor on ICT, Abdulaziz Tijjani Mahmud disclosed this during the Computer Science Day organized by Nigerian Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS), School of Technology (SOT) Kano Chapter on 23rd December.
Abdulaziz said, The "Kano State Government is working to identify talented youths with flair for Information and Communications Technology (ICT), in order to assist and support them, in developing their talents in software and hardware manufacturing and other related Information and Communications Technology (ICT) skills.

According to him, the selected candidates for the scholarship comprised 60 males and 40 females, making a total of 100 youths selected to run the 2-year Diploma program.
Tijani advised students to make good use of their computer knowledge for economic self-reliance noting that computer has become an indispensable tool in doing daily business both in the public and private organizations.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Kano State governor on ICT, admonished youths not to limit their computer skills and knowledge to entertainment, but to use their computer skills to engage in the various legal opportunities available in ICT to sustain themselves economically.
