El-Rufai Regains Freedom from SSS after 15 Hours
Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has been released by the Department of State Security Services after being detained for interrogation in its custody in Abuja for 15 hours.
In a statement released by the El-Rufai's media advisor, Muyiwa Adekeye, the former minister had been released by the Department of State Security Services, he said,
“Mallam El-Rufai will not be silenced. He will continue to do his
patriotic duty of challenging INEC and the security agencies to
guarantee the climate for free and fair elections in Nigeria by
desisting from partisanship and the embrace of impunity.”
Mallam
El-Rufai, had earlier on Monday voluntarily made himself available at the SSS headquarters and was later released after midnight.
“Mallam Nasir El-Rufai left the SSS premises at 12.35a.m today after more than 15 hours,” his aid tweeted at 12.40 on Tuesday morning.
El-Rufai has however vowed that no amount of intimidation can stop him from telling Nigerians the truth.
El-Rufai, is the Interim Deputy National Secretary of the opposition
