Two Die, In Kogi Crash
No fewer than two persons have been confirmed dead, while one other sustained
serious injuries in a road crash that occurred at Abobo village along the
Okene-Lokoja -Abuja road yesterday.
National Mirror gathered that the accident involved one Honda Accord with
registration number AW 94 KTN, a truck vehicle with registration number NSR
120 YQ and a Mercedes Benz truck with registration BMA 291 XA.
Eye witness said the accident happened around 10 pm when one of the truck
heading towards Abuja was driving dangerously and in the process collided with
the other vehicles coming from the opposite direction, killing two persons and
injuring one on the spot.
He told National Mirror the Federal Road safety Commission (FRSC) rescue team
was on hand immediately the accident happened to rescue the victims and
cleared the obstruction caused by the accident.
The Kogi state sector Commander, Olakunle Motajo who confirmed the accident
blamed it on dangerous driving on the part of the drivers, saying that the
dead were taken to the morgue while the injured one was also taken to the
hospital for treatment. Motajo warned motorists to desist from dangerous
driving and obey speed limit as well as avoiding night journey, saying that if
this is adhere to, accident on the road would be reduced to the barest
minimum.
