Three PDP Members Kidnapped During Caucus Meeting In Rivers State

The chairman of Port Harcourt local government chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kingsley Chinda and two other men have been reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday in Port Harcourt.

A member of Rivers House of Assembly, Victor Ihunwo told journalist that the three men were kidnapped while attending a PDP's caucus meeting at the Eagle Island office of Port Harcourt local government.

Rivers State police spokesperson, Almad Muhammed, however, said the police is yet to be briefed on the incident.

Chinda was allegedly kidnapped along with Chiyere Igwe, a former member of House of Representatives who represented Port Harcourt constituency 1 in Rivers, and one other person whose name is not known yet.

According to Ihunwo, unknown gunmen invaded the PDP meeting and took away the party chieftain.

Ihunwo said the abduction of the PDP's chieftain was politically motivated.
He called on the kidnapers to release the men unconditionally.
