Awoniyi Assures Kabba-Bunu People Of Good Governance
The people of Kabba – Bunu Local Government Area have been assured of the
commitment of the administration of Capt. Idris Wada to the provision of
social infrastructure and services in the area. Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi,
gave the assurance when he received in audience, the Kabba – Bunu Leadership
forum, led by Dr Stephen Olurunfemi.
The Deputy Governor who cited the on-going upgrade of the structure and
facilities in the St Augustine College, Kabba and the rehabilitation
of Kabba township road as a demonstration of Government’s efforts in social
development, assured that more schools in the area will benefit from the
school upgrade programme, while communities that are yet to be provided with
electricity will benefit from the current electrification programme of the
Government.
Awoniyi also commended the Federal Government for the commencement of work on
the Kabba – Egbe – Ilorin road disclosed that all the bottlenecks surrounding
the construction of the Obajana – Kabba end of the road have been removed and
work would commence on that in a bit.
Awoniyi informed the leaders that arrangements have been concluded for the establishment of a Power Holding Company of Nigeria Transmission substation in the area, which will further create jobs stressing that to complement the gesture of the Power Holding Company, His Excellency Captain Idris Wada has decided to waive the fees due on the certificate of occupancy on the site of the substation. Awoniyi also assured the people that under the bond procured by the State Government, carry out massive rehabilitation work at the Kabba General Hospital.
