Ekiti Government Bans President Jonathan From Visiting State
PDP cancels President Jonathan's visit to Ekiti as Venue was not approved by
state Govt. PDP might be using the highways to flag-off the Ayo Fayose's
governorship campaign.
President Jonathan's visit to Ekiti state has been concealed as a result of
the Ekiti state Government's decision that President Goodluck Jonathan will
not be allowed into the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wanted to use the planned visit of
President Goodluck Jonathan to state to flag off of the campaign of its
gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Ayodele Fayose.
The PDP wrote the Ekiti Government on March 28, 2014 for the use of stadium
for the President's visit to the state. Regrettably, Ekiti government replied
on April 2 through a letter signed by one Mr P.O. Dada of the Sports Council,
refusing them the right to use the stadium.
The Director General, Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation, Chief Dipo Anisulowo
expressed suprise over the desicion to block the President of Nigeria from
using a public facility in a state in Nigeria because of Politics.
Chief Anisulowo said, “we are now expecting another date from Mr. President,
while the Governorship campaign flag off will be on the hold.”
He concluded that PDP might not have any other option than to use Federal Highway for the campaign.
