"I Will Sell Off Chibok School Girls"- Boko Haram Leader, Shekau Threatens

Shekau says he will continue to raid the Nation’s capital, Abuja and other parts of the country.

The insurgent group, Jamaa’atu alhlissunat li-ddaawat wal Jihad, also known as Boko Haram, has claimed responsibility for the abduction of over 200 girls from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State.

In a video lasting about an hour, the sect’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, vowed to give the abducted students out in marriage

“I am going to marry out any woman who is 12 years old and if she is younger I will marry her out at the age of nine just like how my mother, Aisha, the daughter of Abubakar, was married out to Prophet Mohammad at the age of nine.

“You are all in danger, I mean all of you,” Mr. Shekau said in the video.

Mr. Shekau also threatened to sell the girls, mostly teenagers, who were kidnapped from their secondary school in Chibok, Borno State, on April 14.

“I am the one who captured all those girls and will sell all of them. I have a market where I sell human beings because it is God that says I should sell human beings. Yes I will sell women, because I sell women.”

It is not clear if the Boko Haram sect has actually sold any of the girls, amidst reports that some may have been sold.

The sect leader who appeared boastful also restated the outlawed sect’s stance against western education.

“I captured and abducted girls in a western school and it became a worrying issue for all of you.

“You have forgotten that I have said that it is not only girls’ education I am against; I am against everyone who attends western school. Girls should go and marry, I am repeating it again,” he said.

Mr. Shekau said he believes in slavery and will capture people and make them slaves.

“Slavery is allowed in my religion and I shall capture people and make them slaves,” he said.

He said Boko Haram would continue to raid the Nigerian capital, Abuja, and other parts of the country.

The sect claimed responsibility for the bomb explosion that killed at least 75 people in Nyanya, Abuja, on April 14.

Another explosion occurred in the same area two weeks later, on May 1, killing at least 20 people.

“Don’t think we are done yet because we are not,” the insurgent leader said. “We are on our way to Abuja and we shall also visit the south, not to look for Jonathan but to destroy the nation’s refineries.”

Mr. Shekau also threatened to kill everyone who does not worship his god and follow the doctrine of Islam and insinuated that he was grooming someone deadlier than him to take his place if he dies.

“You said you want to capture me, surely you will one day. But I will also haunt for Jonathan and if I catch him I will kill him.

“Do not think I am indispensable, I am not. Anybody can kill me even the smallest of creature can kill me but when you kill me somebody more deadlier will rise and you will cry that you will rather have me than him, just as you now say that Yusuf Mohamed is more lenient that me.

“I am a leader, I don’t have any president; I am my president.”

Mr. Shekau also said he would kill Imams and other Islamic clerics because they believe in democracy.

“Late Aminu Kano, Late Tafawa Balewa are not Muslims; they are all pagans. I am going to kill all the Imams and other Islamic clerics in Nigeria because they are not Muslims since they follow democracy and constitution.

“Senator Ali Modu Sheriff is a pagan, Senator Ali Ndume is also a pagan and they are all inclusive.

“I am against democracy and you should better get prepared,” he said.

The new video confirms the widely held belief by Nigerians that the over 200 students of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, were kidnapped by the Boko Haram sect.

There has been widespread local and international outrage since the kidnap, with everyone calling for the safe rescue of the girls.

President Goodluck Jonathan said on Sunday that the government was not aware of the whereabouts of the girls and was not sure of the actual number kidnapped.

He, however, assured that the government would do all it could to free the girls.
