A 24-year-old man, Macaulay Udoma
was arrested and charged before the court for stealing and was remanded
in prison custody at Kirikiri, Lagos.

Ejigbo took another turn when the suspect’s father, Mike Udoma confirmed
that his son was a thief and pleaded with the court to jail him
according to his crimes.
Mr. Udoma told the court,
“Macaulay has been a terror in the family and there was no place one
will keep money in the house that he would not find and steal it. “I
have been wondering how he locates where there is money in the family
house. No matter where you hide money, he will locate and steal it,”

The embittered father lamented in the open court that his family has been going through the trauma over the years and now wants him to be jailed so that peace would return to his family.He said his other sibling are pursuing their education, but he chose to be a commercial driver, yet he would not let him have peace in his home.The angry father ordered Macaulay arrested after he burgled his office at 7 Ona-Arostreet Idimu, Lagos and stole his different bank cheque booklets in order to steal his money.
He was caught and handed over to the police at Idimu Division and he was charged to court. He is now facing a five-count charge of stealing under the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.The presiding Magistrate, Mrs M.B. Folami granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.He was, however, remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.The matter was adjourned till 25 June 2014.
