Three People Confirmed Dead In OKene Road Crash
The Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Godwin
Omiko, on Monday announced that three people lost their lives in an auto crash
that occurred at about 11:35 a.m along Kabba-Okene road.
Speaking to newsmen, he said the crash which involved a Toyota Sienna car
marked Lagos KJA 42 XE and a Ford Galaxy with registration number Lagos LSD
141 XJ was caused by wrong over-taking.
Omiko said seventeen other persons also sustained various degrees of
injuries during the crash.
The sector commander further revealed that 20 people were involved in the
accident, adding that the three victims comprised a female child, a man and
a woman died on the spot.
Omiko said those that sustained injuries have been taken to the General
Hospital, Okene, for medical attention while the deceased were deposited at
the hospital’s morgue.
He said his men had removed the obstruction and re-opened the road as the
accident had earlier caused a gridlock traffic.
