Category: Kogi News

The Ajaokuta Advocacy Forum for Good Governance(AFG), has congratulated the governor of Kogi state, Capt. Idris Wada on the successful appointment of commissioners who will assist him in piloting the affairs of the state.

In a statement signed by the chairman and the publicity secretary of the forum, Salami Raimi and Tijani Alidu, respectively, noted that the governor was meticulous and sincere in the selection of the new commissioners.

The Association however appealed to the governor to consider the appointment of a commissioner from Ajaokuta local, which they observed was omitted from the original list.

“The group noted that nobody was nominated from Ajaokuta as commissioner. We have a commissioner in the last cabinet which was dissolved. We therefore appealed to your excellency to kindly consider the area for the exalted position” the stressed.

They called on those appointed to serve as commissioners to always work for the over all development of the state in line with the transformation agenda of the governor, Capt. Idris Wada.

The group while commending governor Wada’s giant stride in agricultural transformation, rural water and electrification, youths and women development, urged him to sustain the trend for greater service delivery.

While noting that Ajaokuta Local Government Area has always been one of the strong holds of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), the group promised to continue to work for the victory of the party in future elections.
