Ebola: Singapore Sends Nigerian Woman into Isolation
Category: World News
Authorities in Singapore sent a woman from Nigeria into a hospital isolation unit today on suspicion that she might have Ebola. The woman who is in her 50s, was believed to have flown into Singapore recently and arrived at a hospital emergency department with a fever, a Singapore Newspaper reports. She was immediately isolated and transferred by ambulance to a communicable diseases center.
However, Professor Philip Choo, TTSH's Chief Executive Officer, told The Straits Times that the woman has been discharged. "We saw a patient with a history from Nigeria," he said, but her detailed history revealed "no contact with any suspect or confirmed patients."
