Ogun police arrests two fleeing robbers, recover loot

A team of the anti-robbery squad of Ajuwon Division of the Ogun State Police Command, on Saturday arrested two suspected
robbers, Opeyemi Ibiloye and Michael Sanusi after they
allegedly robbed and injured a resident on Olatunji Street, Akute, Ifo Local Government

According to our source, the robbers, who were six in number, invaded the area during the early hours of the day while some residents were still sleeping.
The Police Public Relations Officer of Ogun State, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, the police were alerted by someone, who sent a distress call on the robbery, adding that they responded swiftly.
Adejobi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the policemen arrived
at the scene after the robbers had dispossessed the resident of money
and other valuables and also injured him.
He said, “The robbers had fled the scene, but the policemen gave them a
chase and arrested two of them. They also recovered the loot from the robbers and their weapons.”
According to him, preliminary investigation done by the police revealed
that the second suspect, Sanusi, is a son of one of the landlords in the
area.
Adejobi said the victim of the robbery was taken to the hospital by the Divisional Police Officer in the area.
He added, “He is responding to treatment.”

The PPRO said items recovered from the robbers included cutlasses, charms, mobile phones/iPhones.
Adejobi said the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikemefuna Okoye, had directed that the suspects be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
He said the commissioner also encouraged the residents to always summon courage to call the police any time hoodlums invaded their communities.
