Security guard rapes 9-year-old girl to death in Enugu

The Police in Enugu State have arrested a 22-year-old security guard
identified as Gideon Musa for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl to
death in Enugu.
According to DailyPost report, the suspect, a security
guard working at a compound near the victim’s house, took the teenager
to a nearby bush and raped her to death.
Father of the deceased,
Mr. Edwin Ode Ominiyi of Umuchigbo, a community in Abakpa Enugu East
Local Government Area of Enugu State, was said to have reported the
disappearance of his daughter to the police.
The Spokesman of the police in Enugu State, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, DSP,
in a statement he made available to DailyPost said that the victim,
“Endurance Ominiyi, the daughter of Edwin had suddenly disappeared at
about 1 pm.
“The father started searching for her and later
reported the incident to the police operatives on the following day
being 9/8/14. Following the report, operatives swung into action and
spread their tentacles within the arena and its environs owing to the
content of the report.
“A search was, however, intensified by the
father, who was also assisted by the suspect. It was gathered that while
the search was on, the perpetrator, who was involved in the search, was
pretending to be assisting, while he was diverting their search to
another direction until a clue was made available to the police
operatives that the man was last seen around with the victim before she
was declared missing by the parents.
“Following this clue, Gideon
Musa, a security guard, popularly known as Aboki Maiguard, was invited
and quizzed and he confessed that he took the victim to a nearby bush
where he had the carnal knowledge of her until she became unconscious
and fainted.
“He
further revealed that when the victim fainted, that he had to run out
from there, abandoning her and never knew what was her state. He was, at
that juncture, asked by the operatives to take them to the place and as
they got there, the lifeless body of little Endurance was seen lying
naked with blood gushing out from her private parts”.
“Meanwhile
investigations into the alleged incident have commenced in full scale
by the state criminal and investigations Department of the Enugu state
command just as the body of the deceased is now deposited at the
Parklane Hospital Enugu for autopsy”, Amaraizu added.
