Following the embarrassing show on the international stage for the
federal government of Nigeria and the Presidency over the supposed
ceasefire agreement with the violent Jihadist Islamic group, the Boko
Haram, the assemblage of multinational military forces against the
Jihadist group appear to have provided a saving grace for the President
of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebelemi Jonathan.
According to a report obtained from 247ureports.com, a team of multinational forces recaptured
the town of Abadam – in a decisive manner – while leaving a trail of
dead Boko Haram terrorists.
According to available information, up to one hundred members of the
Jihadist group were gundown in the town of Abadam in a battle that
lasted from Friday night to Saturday morning. The multinational force
had launched a multi-pronged attack on the Jihadist group in a bid by
reclaim the community that fell under the control of the terrorists last
week.
One of the sources told 247ureports.com that not less than two dozen
corpses littered the narrow untarred roads in Abadam. According to the
source, it took a combined force of air and ground troops to get the
Jihadist group on their heels and fleeing. “The air attacked
succeeded in shelling most of the occupied spots of the Boko Haram
forcing them to scamper into the bushes where they ran into the ambush
of the ground troops, who showed no mercy with their rifles”.
The recapture of Abadam was also confirmed by a resident of the town,
Aliyu Goni, who was returning to his town after a week of exile in
Niger Republic. He spoke to 247ureports.com. “I saw many dead bodies
as we were returning back to Abadam after the soldiers encouraged us to
go back home. There were many corpses of the Boko Haram members in Arge
ward where the leader of the Boko Haram that led the insurgents into
Abadam was seen issuing orders”.
Last week, Boko Haram attacked Abadam killing 40 persons – and taking control of the town.
Abadam is said to be just about 200km from Maiduguri.
