Lawmakers Serve Ondo Dep Gov Impeachment Notice

The Ondo State House of Assembly has served a notice of impeachment on the state’s Deputy Governor, Ali Olanusi, over allegations of gross misconduct.
The Deputy Governor had defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) two days before the presidential election .
The allegations levelled against him
include abuse of office for personal enrichment, absenteeism, action
capable of causing breach of peace among cabinet members in the state,
among others.
Majority Leader of the House, Ifedayo
Akinsoyinu, moved the motion that the notice be served on the Deputy
Governor and it was seconded by Adeyinka Banso.
The Speaker then ruled that the Deputy
Governor be served the notice personally, through his office, pasted on
his residence and through a national daily which got a unanimous
approval from all the lawmakers present.
The Chairman, House Committee on Information, Kunle Olujuigbe, promised that the Assembly would follow due process.
