APC Women Leader Slumped, Died in Prince Abubakar Audu's Residence

The eight day fidau prayers for late Mariam Onega Atoku, the woman leader of APC slump and died in the house of Prince Abubakar Audu was last week held at Ejule in Ofu LGA with a call on women to participate actively in politics.

The state chairman of the APC, Hadi Ametuo stated this in a message on behalf of the party.


Ametuo described the late woman leader as a woman who gave her best in service of her father land , said er good works will forever be remembered.

He assured that the party as a mark of respect, will immortalize the late woman leader, and ensure that the party win the state in the forth coming guber elections.

The chairman prayed God to grant her eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

It would be recalled that late Mariam slumped at the Lokoja residence of Prince Abubakar Audu last week Thursday.

The incident led to pandemonium as visitors took to their heels following her demise in the confusion that ensured, Mrs Atoku, hails from Ejule in Ofu LGA, was among early callers to the residence of the former governor to attend the inauguration of the 6th Assembly of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

She had barely sat down in the sitting room of the governorship aspirant when she fell down, causing other visitors to take to their heels.


Effort to resuscitate her through first aid failed as she died.

The former Governor in a message to the eight day prayer, described the late woman leader as a very dedicated party woman who was committed to women empowerment, said she will be remembered for consistency and love for the APC.
