George Walker Bush was born on July 6, 1946. He is an American politician and Businessman.
He is the eldest son of Barbara Bush and George H.W Bush. Born in New Haven, Connecticut at Grace- New Haven Hospital (Now Yale- New Haven Hospital)
His grandfather, Prescott Bush, was a United States Senator from Connecticut. His father, George H.W Bush was Vice- President from 1981 to 1989 and President from 1989 to 1993.
Bush was the 43rd president of the United States, serving two terms from 2001 to 2009. He was the 46th governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000.
He attended schools in Midland, Texas and the Kinkaid School in Houston. He finished his High School in Andover, Massachusetts. He later attended Yale University from 1964 to 1968, graduating with an A.B in History.
In May 1968, Bush was commissioned into the Texas Air National Guard. After two years of active duty service he was assigned to Houston, flying Convair F-1023 with the 147th Reconnaissance Wing out of Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base.
In late 1972 and early 1973, he drilled with the 187th Fighter Wing of the Alabama Air National Guard, having moved to Montgomery, Alabama to work on the unsuccessful Winton M. Blount. In 1972 he was suspended from flying for failure to take a scheduled physical exam. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force Reserve on November 21, 1974.
While in Yale, Bush was a cheerleader and member of the “Delta Kappa Epsilon”, he was elected the fraternity’s president during his senior year. He was also a member of the “Skull and Bones” society.

In the fall of 1973, Bush attended the Harvard Business School, and earned a Master of Business Administration. He is said to be the only United States President with an M.B.A
In 1977 he met Laura Welch, a school teacher and librarian. He proposed to her after a three-month courtship, and they married on November 5 of that year.
George Bush ran for the House of Representatives from Texas’s 19th Congressional district. Bush lost the election by 6000 votes (6%) of the 103,000 votes cast. He returned to the oil industry and began a series of small, independent oil exploration companies. He created Arbusto Energy, and later changed the name to Bush Exploration.
Arbusto later merged with Spectrum 7, a larger company and Bush became the Chairman. The company folded up into HKN, Inc. due to decrease in oil prices. Bush also served on the board of the directors of HKN.
In 1981, Laura Bush gave birth to twin daughters, Jenna and Barbara; they graduated from High School in 2000 and from University of Texas at Austin and Yale University, respectively, in 2004.
Bush returned to Texas after a successful campaign and purchased a share in the Texas Rangers baseball franchise in April 1989 where he served as General Manager for five years. In 1998 when he sold his shares in Rangers, it was worth $15 million from the initial $800,000 he invested.
He won Texas governorship election in 1994 and won re-election in 1998 with a 69% of the total votes. He became the first governor in Texas history to be elected two consecutive four-year terms.
In June 1999, while Governor of Texas, Bush announced his candidacy for president of the United States. By November 7, 2000, he won 29 states in the election including Florida. He served as the United States President from 2001 to 2009.
On May 10 2005, Vladimir Arutyunian, a native of Georgia born to a family of ethnic Armenians, threw a live grenade toward a podium where Bush was speaking at Freedom Square in Tbilisi, Georgia. Georgian President Mikhail Sakashvili was seated nearby. It landed in the crowd about 65 feet (20m) from the podium after hitting a girl, but it did not detonate. Arutyunian was arrested in July 2005, confessed, and sentenced in January 2006.
