9ice, born Alexander Abolore Adegbola Akande is born on 17 January 1980. He is a Nigerian musician, songwriter and dancer. He is known for his powerful use of the Yoruba language in his music as well as his proverbial lyrics and unique style of delivery.

He was also a former Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and the Founder and Chief Executive of Alapomeji Records.

In 2014, 9ice revealed that he was going to contest for a political office in his native Ogbomosho in Oyo state. He later joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) and declared his interest to contest for a seat at the Federal House of Representatives. He later lost out during the primaries. 9ice was later named as a Special Adviser to the Oyo state Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

9ice is a Nigerian musician from Ogbomoso in Oyo State, South-West Nigeria. He grew up in Bariga area of Lagos with his parents.

Abolore attended Abule Okuta Primary School and CMS Grammar School in Lagos. He later attended Lagos State University where he was studying Law before he dropped out to focus on his music career.

He recorded his first demo “Risi De Alagbaja’ in 1996, then joined a group called “Mysterious Boys”, he did a few tracks with the group then formed the defunct ‘Abinibi’ group.

He released his first solo song, “Little Money” in 2000 but did not gain recognition until 2005. Little Money was a major break for 9ice in 2005 after which he did collaborations with various Nigerian artistes before he released, “Ganja Man”.

Ganja Man was produced by ID Cabasa, it was released in 2006 under 9ice’s Alapomeji Records.

After Ganja Man, he released “Gongo Aso” which was a life time break for 9ice. The music was played in almost all parties both Yoruba and non-Yoruba ceremonies, particularly around Lagos city.

This brought 9ice to fame light as he was featured across Nigeria campuses in the Soundcity/MTN Campus Blast Tours. He performed at the Mandela’s 90th birthday in London (Hyde Park) on June 27, 2008.

9ice is highly influenced by his grandmother particularly in the area of using Yoruba language majorly in his music.
