Photos: Ghanaian Police Officer Shot Dead by Unknown Bikers in Ghana
A Ghanaian police officer with the Rapid Response Unit at Tema, Ghana,
Constable Michael Kporyi was gunned down by two armed bikers along UBA filling
station near Micheal Camp Road area on Monday, June 12.
The police officer was identified by a police patrol team of the Regional RDF
as Constable Micheal Kporyi, who was detailed for "Motor Bike patrol
"duty.
According to an Eye witness account, the deceased policeman was on police
uniform and was riding on a motor bike with registration number GP4350 and
also carrying an AK47 rifle before the incident. It was reported that the
policeman was followed by two armed men also on a motor bike, who without
notice, opened fire on the unsuspecting policeman repeatedly before speeding
off.
He reportedly fell into the nearby drainage dead.
Further report said, on inspection of the body, it was discovered that the
deceased had multiple gunshot wounds on the chest and eyebrow. Found on the
body of the deceased was One AK47 rifle, one pepper spray, a pair of
handcuffs and a torch light.
The body has since been deposited at the Police hospital mortuary for
autopsy. Full scale investigation into the incident has also
commenced according to the Ghana police.
