Two Held For Flying Drone Over Osoba’s House

Former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba on Tuesday alleged breach of security over a drone allegedly flown over his Abeokuta home to monitor activities going on in the compound.

Consequently, two persons, who operated the drone were held by the security operatives attached to the former governor’s residence.

A statement signed by Osoba’s aide, Adekunle Adeyemi, said the suspects, a lady and young man, were caught late Tuesday afternoon, after the drone was shot down.

Adeyemi said the suspects could not give coherent explanation for their action when apprehended.

Osoba was said to have arrived Abeokuta on Tuesday from the United Kingdom for a private meeting tomorrow preparatory to the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scheduled for Friday.

The statement reads: “This will be another series of breach of security of Chief Osoba’s private security. Few years ago, unknown persons invaded part of the compound and took reasonable time to dig out buried armored cable. This was done in most professional manner.

“It would also be recalled that sometimes ago, two bungalows within the premises were vandalized by unknown hoodlums. Another breach was when insulting graffiti were written round the fence of Chief Osoba’s house, not too long ago. Those involved in the latest action have been handed over to an arm of government agencies for investigations”.
