Your Part in God’s Plan!
Scripture Reference:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and fnd me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13.
When you look at your uncles and aunts and the devil jumps on your shoulder to say that’s how your marriage will be; the question to ask will be what do you see? Whatever people keep looking at is what they see, and what they see is what they become. You are being transformed into what you are looking at consistently.
What are you seeing about the future? What is your vision – your mental picture of your future?
Whenever you study the lives of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and other scripture greats; you begin to see what God expects of you and you can begin to dream in that line. The more you can see it, the more you are being transformed into it. If you see nothing, you become nothing. What you keep seeing is what you become. What you see is where you are heading. It eventually becomes your destination.
If you don’t know where you are going, you may as well just end-up anywhere.
That’s how a lot of Christians are. They pray, come to church, worship God sincerely but there is no clear vision for their lives. You ask them ‘Sir how would you like your marriage to be?’ And they say ‘Well, I like to have a good marriage.’ That’s too general. Is there a particular example you’ve seen in the scripture that you would like to tailor your marriage after? That is also applicable to business and other areas of peoples’ lives.
Daily digest: Your vision determines a lot of things in your life – your friends, lifestyle, choices, association etc. ‘Where there is no vision, people perish' (Proverbs 29:18).
Prayer: Lord, Let me dream your plans for me. Let me walk in your plans. I set aside ambitious dreams. I pick my covenant dream. Thank you for I have become a pacesetter in Jesus’ precious name.
