More than half a million people have tested positive for coronavirus in Europe, but the number of people carrying the potentially deadly bug is likely much higher.
With many countries in unprecedented lockdowns, continent hit the grim milestone as Spain surpassed 10,000 deaths after a record 950 patients died in just 24 hours.
Italy and Spain have the second and third most cases in the world, respectively, while they lead the way in the number of deaths - Italy with 13,155 and Spain with 10,003, as of Thursday morning.
Germany has almost 78,000 confirmed cases, followed by France (almost 57,000) and the UK (just under 29,500). More than 2,350 people have died in Britain after contracting Covid-19.
Globally, the total number of confirmed infections is now over one million.
