If Foreigners Have to Register NIN, Then It is Not "National Identity"- Shehu Sani
Category: Nigeria News
Former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani has criticized the Nigerian government's mandatory National Identity Number, saying if it were a Nigerian identity number then there won't be a need for foreigners to be registered, he also faulted the registration, claiming that it would not be necessary allocating money for the National Census if the NIN is also compulsory for all Nigerians.
The national identity number has become a mandatory exercise for all Nigerians, in which people who uses SIM cards for their phone connection would be disabled after the expiration of the registration, if they are unable to have their NIN.
He got it twisted. NIN is a brain child of minister of communication & digital economy where govt made it mandatory to check mate and block terrotists communication as foreigners call it diplomats could be potential sponsors. As for national census it includes all strata of humans living in Nigeria and are identifies as Nigerians including the new born babies, toddlers, teenagers, adolescents, youths, elderly including the sick.
