All Schools in England To Open From March 8
Category: World News
Boris Johnson had been weighing up whether to send back primary and exam years first, like he did after last year's lockdown.
In Scotland and Wales, schools are starting the reopening process from today - two weeks earlier - but staggering year groups.
In England, however, government sources said the plan is now to return all year groups more or less at once in two weeks' time.
That is likely to infuriate unions, who have warned a non-staggered return seems "reckless".
Union leaders today demanded to see evidence that the plan is sound.
Boris Johnson will only unveil the confirmed plan at 3.30pm in the House of Commons after consulting his Cabinet this morning.
But asked if all schools would reopen to all pupils from March 8, Vaccine Minister Nadhim Zahawi told BBC Breakfast: "Correct."
