Local Government Staff Stabs Wife to Death Over Infidelity Suspicions

A staff of Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State has been arrested
for stabbing to death, his wife of 20 years over infidelity suspicion.
Sobola Olatunji, the suspect was arrested after his father-in-law, Alhaji Ambali Yinusa filed a report at Owode-Egba divisional headquarters about a misunderstanding between the son-in law and his daughter, Momudat Sobola which led to a physical fight between them.
The father-in-law told police that, during the fight Sobola Olatunji took a knife and stabbed his wife at the back.
Upon this report, police were promptly dispatched to the scene of incident and the suspect was arrested while the victim was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment.
She later died during treatment at the hospital.
According to police investigation, Olatunji claimed he had been married to the deceased victim for 20 years and had suspected she was cheating due to some text messages he saw on her phone.
Olatunji told police that fight ensued between him and his deceased wife when he challenged her about his suspicions of her infidelity. It was the fight that led to her death.
The deceased has three children with the suspect.
Her corpse had been deposited by the police at Olabisi Onabanjo University
teaching hospital morgue for autopsy.
