Man's Skin Turns Bright Yellow After Years of Drinking and Smoking
Category: Health & Physical Fitness
The 60-year-old man, identified only by his surname Du, was rushed to hospital in the central Chinese city of Huai'an.
Doctors discovered two tumours, one of which was located in his pancreas and blocking his bile ducts.
Du was diagnosed with jaundice, and disturbing photos show his neck and stomach turned a dark shade of yellow.
Doctors said he had been a heavy smoker and drinker for more than 30 years.
The tumour blocking Du’s bile duct was diagnosed as malignant, and doctors pleaded with him to quit the booze and fags.
Since the operation to remove the tumours, his skin has returned to its normal colour.
The medics said that biliary tract obstruction was one of the main causes for jaundice, which results in a yellowish or greenish pigmentation of the skin and even of the whites of the eyes.
Du has since been discharged and is determined to improve his lifestyle.
