Category: Terrorism News

Boko Haram insurgents have launched a fresh attack on Maiduguri outskirts.

The insurgents on Sunday attacked Mainok, a town along Maiduguri-Damaturu Road, about 60 kilometres from Maiduguri.

Mainok is the headquarters of Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

It was gathered that the insurgents burnt houses and broke shops after making way to the town through the vast landmass traversing Mainok jakana, Auno and the desert where the ISWAP faction operates from.

The attackers were said to have rode on 14 motorcycles and headed straight to the military base in Mainok town.

It was gathered from military sources that the attack was repelled by the Nigerian army.

No casualty has been reported yet.
