Shina Peller Reacts To Customs Officers Killing of Four on Sallah Day
Category: Nigeria News
Shina Peller, the House of Representatives member representing Iseyin federal constituency, has reacted after 4 indigenes were reportedly killed by stray bullets and one injured when Customs officers allegedly opened fire on Sallah day.
Shina Peller wrote on Instagram:
I condemn in totality the purpoted killings of civilians by men of the Nigeria Customs Service in Iseyin yesterday.
According to the information made available to me, the victims, who were allegedly rice smugglers, were shot dead around Oja Oba area in Iseyin.
Whether the victims were actually smugglers or not, shooting sporadically in a public area where many innocent civilians were gathered to observe Eid-al Fitri celebration remains condemnable and should be treated as such by all.
While the Police has commenced an investigation on the matter to unravel what really transpired, I urge my people to remain calm and peaceful.
These senseless, needless and a voidable killings has to stop. These trigger Happy personnel of the Nig Costums have become so untouchable even as they kill innocent citizens at will.
ReplyDeleteWhat can't they be arrested and prosecuted?.... Are they above the law?.... From credible information we get, some of them have their wives owning and operating shops where siezed good particularly foreign rice is being sold, yet they have never for once turn their weapons on their own, only others....... Now that you have killed them, and are going to label them smugglers, how then do we hear their side of the story..? For anyone who kills unjustly, remember that a day to give account is coming...... And it will come faster than expected Insha Allahu
