33 Member Exco Set To Emerge From Niger PDP Congress

Defying the heavy rainfall, People’s Democratic Party delegates from the 25
local Government Areas of Niger state are right now casting their votes at the
party congresses to elect new set of executives to lead the party for another
for years.
In a brief opening remark Deputy Governor of Benue State who is the Electoral Committee Chairman, Engr. Benson Abounu said, “We already know that the road is already clear, the armor is ripe for PDP to takeover power in Niger State, Government House, Minna is already there to be taken over by the the PDP, off course you can see that what is happening in Nigeria today, Niger State is not excluded, the people are just waiting for us to takeover, that why is important that we conduct this congress, exactly according to the rules of the game”
Niger State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Sam Egwu, Independent electoral commission, INEC,security agents and the media are all in attendance.
The electoral committee took time to monitor accreditation process, voting and all necessary steps for a harmonious congress, free, fair and transparent congress.
Voting is still underway as at the time of filing this report. It is expected that a 33 member state executive committee will emerge from the congress, while others are unopposed 11 are being contested.
Senator Zaynab Kure, Professor Jerry Gana, Umar Nasko, Abdullahi Maibasira, party stalwarts and dignitaries are all in attendance.
