Two Feared Dead as Shiites Clash With Security Operatives
Category: Nigeria News
At least two persons were feared killed during a clash between members of the
Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) and security operatives in Abuja.
Reacting to the clash, FCT police public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh said the Shiites movement came into Abuja with the intention to cause unrest.
“We got a security report before now that they mobilized people from about six states into FCT with the intention of making the city ungovernable,” Adeh said.
“They engaged our men with dangerous weapons. They were throwing explosives and stones at our men. What we simply did was disperse them with tear gas. There was no casualty. I tell you that.”
