Yobe College Provost Gishiwa Finally Gives Up The Ghost Two Weeks After Car Accident

Dr Mohammad Gishiwa, Provost, Umar Suleiman College of Education, Gashua, has succumbed to injuries from his car accident.

Gishiwa, 53, died on Sunday while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kano, following injuries sustained in a car accident on Oct. 4.


Mr Hassan Bulama, Deputy Provost of the college, confirmed the death in Damaturu on Monday.

Bulama said that the deceased would be buried at about 2:00 pm in Gashua, today.

Alhaji Ali Gishiwa, a brother to the deceased, said that arrangements were on to convey the remains of Gishima to Gashua for burial.

Gishiwa was appointed Provost in 2016.

He was serving his second tenure at the time of his death.
