Man Lands in Court For Calling Gov Ganduje and Children ‘Kano Thieves’
A Kano State Magistrate’s Court presided over by a Senior Magistrate, Aminu Gabari, has admitted Muazu Danbala, to bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum
Danbala allegedly described the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and his two children as “Kano thieves.”
The defendant had pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, while his counsel, identified simply as Saka, applied for his bail.
When the case resumed on Monday for ruling on bail applications, the magistrate, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties, who “shall be a village head of Sabon Garin Kiru, and a Hisbah commander in the Kiru Local Government Area.
But Saka prayed the court to further review the conditions.
He said, “No village head or commander of Hisbah in the entire Kano State will stand as surety in the matter that involved Kano State Governor.”
However, the prosecution counsel, Wada Ahmad Wada, submitted that the argument of the defendant was not supported by any law.
Gabari declined to review the bail conditions as prayed by the defence.
