Three Students of Adekunle Ajasin University Develop Robotic Guard Dog
Three students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko are going places
with their invention, a robotic guard dog.
The students are of the Physics and Electronics Departments of the University.
They are John Aiyegbeni John, Stephen Adeyi and Charles Loiki Charles.
In an interview with Reuters, the students explained why they developed the guard dog.
Their immediate consideration is that the guard dog if mass produced, will help fight insecurity in the country.
The invented dog barks in reaction to sound and motion.
The owner of the dog can view the trigger via a camera attached to the dog’s chest, without coming out.
Aiyegbeni said the robot is still a work in progress.
They want to make the dog move around like a normal dog, avoid obstacles, recognize its owner and be able to function in all weather.
