Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary, the Rescue Nigeria Mission, a group canvassing support for the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello’s bid to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, has foreclosed the chances of Bello stepping down for any aspirant.
Bello was among the first aspirants to declare interest to contest the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the APC.
Speaking during a rally on Saturday, in Abuja, the national coordinator of the group, Abdullahi Damati, said that Bello would not disappoint his supporters for any reason.
He said that Nigerian youths were ready to cast their votes for Bello in 2023, as they hope that he would clinch the party’s presidential ticket.
When asked if Bello would step down, he said: “There is nothing like that at all because Bello is a man of his words. All Nigerian youths are with him, over 15 million youths are ready for him, and I don’t think that he will ever disappoint them at any time, for any reason.
“We are very hopeful, we have the support of all the party stalwarts, those who are going around sharing money are doing that at their own risk.
All Nigerian youths have shown clearly that they want Yahaya Bello to become the president in 2023. This event is happening in the 36 states of the federation. So, Yahaya Bello stands a better chance to win the primaries,” he added.
