God's Punishment For False Prophecies
So you think because that pastor prophecies on you every time makes him a true
prophet of God? You think because he speaks in tongues and gives you all manners
of messages claiming they are from God that makes a true prophet of God. Do not
be deceived!
"Then this message came to me from the Lord: 'Son of man, prophesy against the false prophets of Israel who are inventing their own prophecies. Say to them, 'Listen to the word of the Lord. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: what sorrow awaits the false prophets who are following their own imaginations and have seen nothing at all!" Ezekiel 13: 1-2
Let them keep saying what the Lord did not send them, allow them to keep putting coals of fire on their own head, but do not listen to them, do not follow them, don?t allow yourself to fall for their antics because it is all lies.
"O people of Israel (people of Nigeria, people of the universe), these prophets of yours are like jackals digging in the ruins- they have done nothing to repair the breaks in the walls around the nation. They have not helped it to stand firm in battle on the day of the Lord. Instead, they have told lies and made false predictions. They say, "This message is from the Lord, "even though the Lord never sent them. And yet they expect him to fulfill their prophecies! Can your visions be anything but false if you claim, "This message is from the Lord; when I have not even spoken to you?" Ezekiel 13: 4-7
All in the name of getting crowds to their church, all because they want to make name for themselves, just because they want to get rich using people?s wealth, they call it talent, all because of these, they lie to the people. Making the people not to get the truths of what God is trying to tell them saying they are giving them prophecies from the Lord.
"Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because what you say is false and your visions are lie, I will stand against you, says the Sovereign Lord. I will raise my fist against all the prophets who see false visions and make lying predictions, and they will be banished from the community of Israel (Nigeria, the entire world). I will blot their names from Israel's record books, and they will never again set foot in their own land. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign Lord" Ezekiel 13: 8-9
"This will happen because these evil prophets deceive my people by saying, "All is peaceful" when there is no peace at all! It's as if the people have built a flimsy wall, and these prophets are trying to reinforce it by covering it with whitewash! Tell these white washers that their wall will soon fall down. A heavy rainstorm will undermine it; great hailstorms and mighty winds will knock it down. And when the wall falls, the people will cry out, "what happened to your whitewash?" Ezekiel 13: 10-12
Yes, a whitewash is not strong like paint itself, rain can wash off whitewashed surface, and here God is comparing these lying prophets to whitewashed surfaces. He said, they would fade off like whitewash fades off when hit by rain water.
"Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will sweep away your white-washed wall with a storm of indignation, with a great flood of anger, and with hailstorms of fury. I will break down your wall right to its foundation, and when it falls, it will crush you. Then you will know that I am the Lord. At last my anger against the wall and those who white washed it are both gone. They were lying prophets who claimed peace would come to Jerusalem when there was no peace. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken." Ezekiel 13: 13-16
