Man Feared Dead After Shooting Self In Osun

A resident of Iraye Area in Modakake, Osun State, simply identified as Sunday has reportedly shot himself while handling a gun.

The circumstances surrounding the incident were unclear.

Though it was insinuated that Sunday being a member of PDP was celebrating the victory of the party in the just concluded governorship poll when he accidentally shot himself.

But another source in Iraye, who pleaded for anonymity, told Punch correspondent, that Sunday was not celebrating PDP’s victory as being claimed when the incident happened.

It was also rumored that Sunday is an operative of Osun Amotekun Corps and passed on after he was rushed to a private hospital in Ile-Ife.

But the Field Commander, Osun Amotekun Corps, Amitolu Shittu, said the victim was not a member of the organization.

He said, “He is not an operative of Amotekun. And from our findings, he is not dead. But he actually shot self and was rushed to a private hospital in Ile-Ife.”
