One of the suspects, Mojeed, 24, while speaking with Punch correspondent during the parade said, “It is true that the civil defense officers caught us while removing the rail tracks in the bush, I decided to steal because I have no job and I want to feed.”
The NSCDC spokesperson, Olasunkanmi Ayeni, said the suspects were caught vandalizing the rail tracks around a bush in Ogbondoroko village on August 26, 2022.
Ayeni said, “We are all aware about the efforts of the Federal Government to put our rail system into use and to ensure that our transportation system in Nigeria is taken to another level.
“But we have some criminals who do not believe in this vision. At our end, we are on guard to ensure these criminals who want to make Nigeria uncomfortable are being brought to book.
