Muslim Council Sacks Chief Imam In Ondo
The Ikare Muslim Council has sacked the Chief Imam of Ikare Mosque, Sheikh Abubakar Muhammed Abbas.
This was contained in a letter by the council and signed by its chairman, Adewale Jimoh Abayomi and the secretary, Alhaji R. Ayeigbusi.
In the letter dated October 10, 2022 and addressed to the Chief Imam, the council said the decision was arrive at its meeting held on October 9, 2022.
It said the council agreed on the termination of Sheikh Abbas as the Chief Imam of Ikare.
The council said the Okukare of Ikare, Oba Saliu Akadiri Momoh IV, approved its decision.
In another news, the League of Imams and Alfas in the state have rejected the sacking.
It said its stand was in line with the decision and resolution of the Ikare Muslim Community crisis by the Ondo State Government.
